London’s policing is divided by the boundary between the City of London Police and the Metropolitan Police.
As both forces collaborate primarily on major crimes, minor incidents occurring on and across this boundary are often ignored. Stuck in slow bureaucratic procedures, both forces shift responsibility to one another.
By manifesting a police force for this 50cm-wide “no-man’s land”, the project exposes invisible borders and invites the public to visualise the operational voids within the current policing system.
